Floyd threatened to sack his dad for saying that

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-2789083/floyd-mayweather-threatens-sack-dad-trainer-pushing-amir-khan-manny-pacquiao-fights.html

Don't see either of them as testing him anyway, Pac maybe 4-5 years ago but he's not the same fighter now

Re: Muhammad Ali
but yes, Ali would be loaded im sure, as would the others from that era, much like Bobby Moore or George Best these days would be too.

Inflation its called!

Re: Muhammad Ali
Aldgate you forgot the superlative of "great" or "sublime" or maybe the phrase "one of the best boxers the world has ever seen"

Thats money mayweather

Re: Muhammad Ali
mayweather is the richest man in boxing - a monosyllabic defensive fighter who is unloved and dodges the big fights
how much do you think ali would be worth in the modern game?

Re: Muhammad Ali
maybe Floyd thinks Pac man will possibly beat him (or that he's a drug cheat) and fighting Khan - why would Mayweather want to fight that heap of shit?

A touchy subject among the boxing fraternity - the only fraternity you'll ever be involved in is the Stansted one and they're called OMEGA NO ONE!

Re: Muhammad Ali
If you think Mayweather and Pacquiaio will fight next year you're deluded.

Latest noises from camp Mayweather are that he wants no part of Pac-man or Khan.

Re: Muhammad Ali
I would imagine that where the name cane from!

"a young pro boxer named Cassius Clay, soon to change his name to Muhammad Ali, reinvented his public persona after he happened to meet Gorgeous George on a radio show in Las Vegas in 1961. "That's when I decided I'd never been shy about talking, but if I talked even more, there was no telling how much people would pay to see me," Ali remembered. That's when he started calling himself "The Greatest" ...just like Gorgeous George."

Re: Muhammad Ali
The only remaining question that Mayweather needs to answer in the ring is hand speed and the likelihood is he`ll answer it next year with Khan in May & his final fight with Pacquiao in September

I fear you're right mate. Khan has been far too inactive because he has been holding out for this payday for so long and the fear of losing it because of being found out again by his suss chin and Pacquiao`s age getting the better of him

49-0 in the sports toughest division would be a feat that would rank him right up there in the top 2/3 of all time

Re: Muhammad Ali
Ali`s IQ back in the day must of been off the fucking charts. Not a politician or spin doctor around who would be able to replicate his vocabulary skill set after being punched in the face consistently for 15 odd years

Eggward - Fights like Mayweather-Pacquiao never happening because of the money that is pumped into Boxing is why us die hard`s generally hope the game eventually falls on its arse (much like the premier league) and they have no other option but to get it on

I done wrestled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale; handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail; only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick; I'm so mean I make medicine sick.

I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.

Re: Muhammad Ali
The greatest sportsman of all time.

The majority of boxing fans and pundits will say he was the greatest. You'll always get some saying Tyson, Foreman, or one of the great middleweights from the 70s and 80s.

But im sure he will top most boxing polls.

Brussels Sprout 2:19 Tue Oct 14

Ali was tired with Frazier hunting him down, lost concentration and ended up on the end of Frazier's best left hook. Most would have been knocked out.
